Shift Lever Positions
RELEASE
BUTTON
SEQUENTIAL
SPORTSHIFT
MODE
POSITION
The shift lever has six positions. It
must be in Park or Neutral to start
the engine. When you are stopped in
D, D , N, R, or the Sequential

SportShift Mode, press firmly on the
brake pedal and keep your foot off
the accelerator pedal.
To select the Sequential SportShift
Mode, slide the shift lever toward
the driver's side from the ''D''
SHIFT
position.
LEVER
In this mode the shift lever allows
you to shift up and down manually.
Automatic Transmission
To shift from: Do this:
P to R Press the brake pedal and
press the release button.
R to P
N to R Press the release button.
D to D
3
D to D
3
D to N Move the lever.
N to D
R to N
You cannot shift out of Park with the
brake pedal depressed when the
ignition switch is in the LOCK (0) or
ACCESSORY (I) position.
