Lane Keeping Assist System (For some types)
The Lane Keeping Assist System
(LKAS) monitors the lane lines of a
motorway or unwinding road in a
suburb, alerts you when your car
starts veering off a lane, and assists
steering operation to help keep the
car between the right and left lines.
The LKAS operates when the car
speed is 72 180 km/h (45 112
mph).

Comfort and Convenience Features
When the system detects that the
car is about to veer away from either
line, the system applies torque to the
steering and assists the driver's
steering operation to keep between
the lines. The system does not work
if the driver takes their hands off the
steering wheel or neglects steering
operation.
The LKAS is not a substitute for
driver's steering operation. The
driver's operation of the steering
wheel is essential.
