The Cleaning Pads
If the cleaning pads located at the left edge of the front of the machine become damaged, they may destroy the printing heads.
If a cleaning pad is are damaged by a blade or the like, replace both the white and orange pads included with the machine with new cleaning
pads.
Continuing to use a cleaning pad that has deteriorated may impair printing quality.
As a general guide, replace the cleaning pads with new ones after around 50 meters (54.6 yd.) of roll media have been printed.
Replace both the white and orange cleaning pads at the same time.
To purchase cleaning pads, contact your authorized Roland DG Corp. dealer or service center.
To Replace the Cleaning Pads
NOTICE
When printing, be sure cleaning pads are installed. Performing printing with no cleaning pads installed may damage
the printing heads.
As a general guide, replace the cleaning pads after around 50 meters (54.6 yd.) of roll media have been printed.
Continuing to use degraded cleaning pads may impair printing quality.
Also, if the cleaning pads become damaged, replace them immediately.
Failure to replace them may cause destruction of the printing heads.
Follow the steps below to replace the cleaning pads.
Replacing the White Cleaning Pad

Slowly peel off the white cleaning pad, starting from the
right corner.
Peel off the tape from the adhesive surface of the white

cleaning pad included with the machine.
Replacing the Orange Cleaning Pad

While pressing down on the right side of the orange
cleaning pad with your finger, grasp the tab at the left end
and remove the cleaning pad.

Press down here.

Attach the new cleaning pad at the same location as
the pad you removed.
Press down on the cleaning pad from above and make
sure it is not loose.
Press down on it while keeping it flush at
the left so that it fits into the groove.

Press down on the orange cleaning pad included with
the machine so that the tab on the cleaning pad goes
into the hole.
Make sure the cleaning pad is level.
Press down from above to make this
tab go into the hole.
