LUBRICATION SYSTEM
OIL COOLER
INSPECTION
Check the oil cooler air passage for clogging or
damage.
Straighten bent fins with a small, flat blade
screwdriver and remove insects, mud or other
obstructions with compressed air.
Check for any oil leakage from the oil cooler and
hose joints.
REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
Drain the engine oil (page 3-11).
Remove the inner fenders (page 2-9).
Disconnect the oil hoses from the oil cooler by
removing the joint bolts and remove the O-rings.
Remove the mounting bolts and the oil cooler out
of the frame to the left, being careful not to damage
the cooler fins.

REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
Remove the following:
right side cover (page 2-4)
right inner fender (page 2-9)
Remove the wire band that secured the fan motor
wire and breather tube, and disconnect the motor
connectors and breather tube from the 3-way joint.
Loosen the four mounting bolts and remove the
two stay bolts of right side to get the clearance.
Remove the four mounting bolts and the cooling
fan assembly, being careful not to damage the oil
cooler fins.
Install with the

Route the wire and tube properly (page 1-22).
