Using the answering machine
To set the number of rings for other
reception modes, see Additional settings,
'Number of rings before answer', page 49.
IMPORTANT
For Remote Access to work, your
BT PaperJet 35 must be set to FAX/TAD
reception mode. See page 35.
. The display shows TYPE CODE (0-9) 1234 .

Toll saver

Providing you have set your BT PaperJet 35 to TAD/FAX mode, when
you call your it from another phone your answering machine will answer
after 2 rings if you have new messages. If you hear a third ring, you do
not have new messages. Now you can hang up before you are
connected, saving you the cost of a call.

Operating your answering machine

1. Dial your phone number. After your Answer and Record outgoing
message, enter your Remote Access Code (default setting 1234) on your
phone's keypad.
2. Now use the buttons on the keypad to operate your answering machine.
to play new messages
to play all messages
to play previous message
to skip forward to the next message
to delete all played messages.
to switch between the options OFF or ON .
