the information efficiently. Coupled with the debugging program, the syslog
provides powerful support for the network administrators and the R&D personnel
to monitor the operating state of networks and diagnose network failures.
The syslog of the Switch 7700 has the following features:
Support to output log in six directions, i.e., Console, monitor to Telnet terminal,
logbuf, loghost, trapbuf, and SNMP.
The log is divided into 8 levels according to the significance and it can be
filtered based on the levels.
The information can be classified in terms of the source modules and the
information can be filtered in accordance with the modules.
The output language can be selected between Chinese and English.
SYSLOG configuration includes:
Enable/Disable the logging function
Set the output channel of log
Define the log filtering rules
Configure the info-center loghost
For the above configuration, the log host is not configured on the switch. All
other configurations will take effect after enabling the logging function.
1 Enable/Disable the logging function
You can use the following commands to enable/disable the logging function.
Perform the following operation in system view.

Disable the logging function.
By default, syslog is enabled. When the syslog is enabled, the system performance
will be affected by the information classification and the output, especially when
there is a large amount of information to be processed.
2 Set the output channel of log
The syslog of the Ethernet switch outputs various types of log in six directions. Use
the configuration commands to specify the required channels for output in every
direction. All the information will be transmitted in the corresponding direction
after filtered by the specified channel. You can configure the channel and filtering
information for every output direction to implement the filtering and redirection of
different information.
You can use the following commands to configure the output channel of the log.
