BASIC OPERATION

■ Turning power ON

Pror to usng the transcever for the first tme, the battery
pack must be fully charged for optmum lfe and operaton.
(p. 18)
q Rotate [VOL] to turn the power ON.
w If the transcever s programmed for a start up password,
nput the dgt codes as drected by your dealer.
• 10-keypad can be used for password nput dependng on
verson.
• The keys n the table below can be used for password nput.
• The transcever detects numbers n the same block as dentcal.
Therefore "01234" and "56789" are the same.

e When the "PASSWORD" ndcaton does not clear after
nputtng 6 dgts, the nput code number may be ncorrect.
Turn the power off and start over n ths case.

D Battery type selection
The battery type must be selected accordng to the attachng
battery type when tunng the transcever ON.
➥ Whle pushng and holdng [Emer] and [PTT], rotate [VOL]
to toggle the attachng battery type.
• After the dsplay appears, release [Emer] and [PTT].
• " DRY BATT" s dsplayed for about 3 sec. then "Lo" (low power
ndcator) appears when the battery case operaton s selected.
• "LI-ION" s dsplayed for about 3 sec. when the Lthum-on bat-
tery operaton s selected.
• Ths operaton may not be avalable dependng on the pre-settng.
