Using the Stack Bypass

You can use the stack bypass when making copies on irregular size paper, heavy paper
that cannot be used in the drawers, or paper of sizes that are not loaded in the drawers.
NOTICE:
❍ The following paper can be used for making copies:
- Capacity:
- Paper size:
Standard size;
Irregular size;
Transparencies;
Envelopes;
- Paper weight:
❍ When loading special paper, load it one sheet at a time.
❍ Curl down paper before use.
❍ There are some types of paper that may meet the above specifications but cannot be placed in the stack
bypass.
❍ Only use transparencies recommended for this machine. Using other transparencies may damage the
machine.
❍ Make sure to immediately remove transparencies or heavy paper that are output to the output tray. Failure to
do so may result in paper jams.
❍ We recommend copying envelopes in the Black Monochrome mode. (See Switching between the Full Color
Mode and Black Monochrome Mode (including ACS) p. 2-21.)
MEMO:
Two-sided modes (excluding two-sided to one-sided) cannot be set when feeding paper from the stack
bypass.
When making full-color copies on transparencies on this machine, use only the recommended transparencies
for full-color copies.
We recommend using a transparent type overhead projector with transparencies full-color copied. If using
a reflective type overhead projector, a dark image may be projected.
For high quality copies, use paper recommended by Canon.
When making copies on envelopes, the envelopes may be wrinkled on output.
When making copies on envelopes, there may be times when copied images or characters are not clear. If
this occurs, move the images to be copied, toward the center of the envelope when making copies. The
quality of copied images or characters may be improved.
When ON is selected for Store Standard Mode of Paper for the Stack Bypass, place the same paper as the
one stored. To load paper other than the one stored for the Stack Bypass, set Store Standard Mode of Paper
for the Stack Bypass to OFF in the Additional Functions. (See the Reference Manual, Store Standard Mode of
Paper for the Stack Bypass p. 3-15.)
