Adjusting Copy Exposure

Automatic Exposure Adjustment

The machine automatically adjusts the copy exposure for you. It makes copies by erasing
the background color of the original except for the image areas. You can set the type of
automatic exposure adjustment with the [IMAGE QUALITY ADJ.] key in the Special Fea-
tures screen. (See the Copier Operator's Manual/Advanced Operations, Background Color
Adjustment p. 1-18.) (See the Copier Operator's Manual/Advanced Operations, 2nd Side
Elimination p. 1-22.)
MEMO:
Automatic Exposure Adjustment is canceled if you press the [IMAGE QUALITY ADJ.] key in the Special Features
screen to fine-adjust the exposure when the copy exposure setting is "A."
Alternatively, if you press the [A] key for copy exposure adjustment while fine-adjusting the exposure by the
[IMAGE QUALITY ADJ.] key, the fine adjustment settings are canceled, and the machine automatically adjusts
the image quality for you.
If you press the [A] key for copy exposure adjustment to make copies, the adjustment values that you set on
the machine remain stored on the machine even if you press the [A] key again to cancel Automatic Exposure
Adjustment. (*The [IMAGE QUALITY ADJ.] key in the Special Features screen is inverted.)
To cancel adjustment values set on the machine by Automatic Exposure Adjustment or to fine-adjust the copy
exposure manually, press the [IMAGE QUALITY ADJ.] key.
