Reading Device Status (Input Device Check)

Use the engine checker to read the device status. For example, to read the
status of the PBFS (Paper Back Feed Sensor), the menu path is BASIC
MENU, DEVICE CHECK, INPUT SIGNAL, TRANSPORT UNIT, BACK FEED,
BACK FEED SENSOR. When "BACK FEED SENSOR" appears at the
extreme left of the message display, press the key. One of the following
messages appears, depending on whether the sensor is on or off.

Driving/Stopping A Device (Output Device Check)

Use the engine checker to drive/stop a device. For example, to start the drum
motor, the menu path is BASIC MENU, DEVICE CHECK, OUTPUT SIGNAL,
MOTOR COUNTER, DRUM, DRUM MOTOR, START. The following
message appears:
To stop the drum motor, press STOP. The following message appears:
NOTE: When reading, driving, or stopping a device, the engine checker
LEDs reflect the status. The green LED lights when driving a device,
and the red LED lights when pausing or stopping a device.
