Perforation Cutter Motor
As shown below, the perforation cutter is secured to the belt which runs
between the front and rear sides of the printer. When the cutter motor rotates
this belt, the cutter reciprocates.

Cutter Sensor 0 (CPS0)
When the High level cutter motor signal (start instruction) and High level
cutter motor rotation direction signal (rearward direction instruction) are
asserted while the cutter is in the home position (front side), the cutter motor
is activated to move the cutter rearward. When the cutter is detected by cutter
sensor 1, the cutter motor signal goes Low to stop the motor. When the High
level cutter motor signal and Low level cutter motor rotation direction signal
(forward direction instruction) are asserted, the cutter moves forward until it is
detected by cutter sensor 0.
To operate the cutter, the cutter solenoid (CSL) turns ON and the paper
retainer actuates.

Drum Surface Potential Control

To assure that the main charger produces a constant potential on the drum
surface, the printer measures the drum surface potential between the
photoconduction and developing sections. The printer controls the current
