Ethernet port
The Ethernet port is for an RJ-45 10BASE-T or 100BASE-T Ethernet
connection. Use the Ethernet connection to directly manage storage
subsystems.
Expansion port (Model 60U/60X only)
The expansion port is used to connect up to three FAStT EXP drive
expansion units to the RAID controllers. You first insert a SFP into the port
and then connect a fibre channel cable.
Note: If you want to connect up to seven FAStT EXP drive expansion units,
you must purchase the FAStT600 Turbo option. See Table 4 on page
3 for more information.
Serial port
The serial port is used by service personnel to perform diagnostic
operations on the RAID controllers.
Server/Enclosure ID switch
The Server ID switch settings range from 0 through 7, and you can set
unique IDs ranging from 00 through 77.
Note: FAStT600 storage server and the FAStT EXP drive expansion units
are shipped with their Server ID/Enclosure ID switches set to 0 as
the default. If you want to connect a FAStT600 to one or more EXP
drive expansion units, you must set the Enclosure IDs of the EXPs
to unique values (other than 0 or the current Server ID setting of the
FAStT600 storage server).
Note: For controller firmware version 05.33.xx.xx, both host and expansion ports
operate at 2 Gbps only. For controller firmware version 05.34.xx.xx and
higher, the host ports can operate at either 1 or 2 Gbps (the expansion port
speed is still locked at 2 Gbps only).
