IBM FAStT600 Model 6LU/6LX Turbo Upgrade (IBM P/N 24P8964)
Use this product to upgrade to the FAStT600 Turbo option, which provides
dual redundant RAID controllers and power supplies in addition to the
following features:
v RAID controllers with 1 GB of memory, instead of the standard 256-MB
memory
v Entitlements for IBM FAStT Storage Manager and FAStT600 controller
firmware version 8.40
v Ability to connect up to seven FAStT EXP drive expansion units
v Entitlement for eight partitions using the Storage Partitioning premium
feature
The FAStT600 dual-controller storage server (Model 60U/60X) includes two RAID
controllers, two power supplies, and two cooling units and provides dual, redundant
controllers, redundant cooling, redundant power, and battery backup of the RAID
controller cache.
This FAStT600 storage server is designed to provide maximum host- and drive-
side redundancy. Each RAID controller supports direct attachment of one host
containing one or two host adapters.
Note: You must make Fibre Channel connections to both FAStT600 controllers to
ensure full host-side redundancy.
Utilizing these features with the 14 internal disk drive modules, up to 112 disk drives
can be attached to the FAStT600 with individual drive module capacities ranging
from 36.4 to 146.8 GB.
The standard FAStT600 dual-controller storage server (Model 60U/60X) supports a
maximum of three EXP expansion units. In order to support up to seven EXP units,
you must purchase the FAStT600 Turbo option.
The FAStT600 Turbo option consists of:
v Two 1-GB memory RAID controllers
v Storage Manager and firmware at 8.4 level
v License for connecting up to seven EXP expansion units
v Entitlement for eight partitions using the Storage Partitioning premium feature
You can add up to seven FAStT EXP drive expansion units to the FAStT600
dual-controller storage server (Model 60U/60X)
Note: The FAStT600 single-controller storage server (Model 6LU/6LX) does not
support FAStT EXP drive expansion units.
