Troubleshooting

Always use the storage-management software to diagnose storage server problems
and component failures. You can use Table 11 to find solutions to problems that
have definite indicators.

Possible solutions
Replace the drive that has failed.
Replace the fan that has failed.
If the RAID controller Fault LED
is on, replace the RAID controller.
If theRAID controller has been
placed offline by the user, use
storage management software to
place it online. If the controller
failed, replace the RAID
controller.
No corrective action is needed if
this is a stand-alone storage
server with no expansion units
attached, and if the system is
properly configured.
Otherwise, check to make sure
that the drive expansion unit is
powered on and the FC cables
are attached properly.
Connect the fibre-channel cable
to the enclosure port; check other
connections.
The FAStT600 supports 2Gb/s
fibre-channel connections only
using the 05.33.xx.xx firmware.
Make appropriate hardware
changes to ensure the FAStT600
ports are connecting to ports that
operate at 2Gb/s.
Reattach the SFPs and
fibre-channel cables. Replace
input and output SFPs or cables
as necessary.
Indicates that a Fault LED
somewhere on the storage server
has turned on. (Check for amber
LEDs on CRUs.). Use Storage
Manager software to diagnose
server problems.
Turn on all power-supply power
switches.
Replace the failed power-supply
CRU.
