Sending a fax

How to fax

Entering fax mode

To enter fax mode press
key will glow blue.
Sending a single-sided fax
from the ADF
Using the ADF to send your faxes is the
easiest way.

Make sure you are in Fax mode

Put your document face up in the ADF.

Dial the fax number. (See How to
dial on page 57.)

Press Mono Start or Color Start.
If you press Mono Start, the
machine scans the pages into
memory and then sends the
document.
If you press Color Start, the
machine starts dialling and sends the
document in real time.
Note
• To cancel a fax in progress press
Stop/Exit.
• If the Out of Memory message appears
while scanning a B&W document into
memory, press Stop/Exit to cancel or
Mono Start to send the scanned pages.

5 You can send a 2-sided document from the
ADF. To cancel a fax in progress press
(Fax), and the
Stop/Exit.

Changing a 2-sided fax layout
You need to choose the duplex scanning
format before you send a fax. The format you
choose will depend on the layout of your 2-
sided document.

Make sure you are in Fax mode
Place your document in the ADF.
Press Duplex.
Dial the fax number. (See How to
dial on page 57.)
Press Mono Start.
Note
Legal size 2-sided documents cannot be
faxed from the ADF.
Press Menu, 1, 0, 2.

Do one of the following:
If your document is flipped on the
Long edge, press a or b to choose
Long edge.
Press OK.
