You can program a 2-second delay in these ways:
• If the scanner is scanning and stops on an active chan-
nel, quickly press •/DELAY before it continues scanning
again.
• If the desired channel is not selected, manually select the
channel, then press •/DELAY.
• If the scanner is in the search mode, press •/DELAY while
the scanner is searching. DLY appears on the display and
the scanner automatically adds a 2-second delay to ev-
ery transmission it stops on.
To turn off the 2-second delay, press •/DELAY while the scan-
ner is monitoring the channel or frequency. DLY disappears
from the display.

TURNING THE KEY TONE ON AND OFF

Each time you press any of the scanner's keys, the scanner
sounds a tone.
Follow these steps to turn the scanner's key tone on or off.
1. If the scanner is on, turn VOLUME counterclockwise until
it clicks to turn it off.
2. While you press and hold down 2 and ENT, turn on the
scanner.
3. After a second, release 2 and ENT.

BATTERY-SAVING FEATURE

Your scanner has been equipped with a battery-saving cir-
cuit. This feature sends the unit into a standby mode, which
uses only 30 percent of the available power, if no signal is
detected within a 5 second time interval, P .–SA (power save)
appears in the display.
The scanner will continue to operate in the standby mode
until it receives a signal or you press a button.
