BASIC OPERATION
■ Channel selection
IMPORTANT: Pror to usng the transcever for the frst
tme, the battery pack must be fully charged for optmum
lfe and operaton. To avod damage to the transcever,
turn the power OFF whle chargng.
D Channel 16
Channel 16 (Dstress channel) s used for establshng ntal
contact wth another staton and for emergency communca-
tons. Channel 16 s automatcally montored durng both du-
alwatch and tr-watch. Whle standng by, you must montor
Channel 16.
q Push [16•
] to select Channel 16.

w Push [DIAL] to return to the condton before selectng
Channel 16, or push [Y]/[Z] to select the operatng chan-
nel.

D Call channel
Each regular channel group has a separate call channel. In
addton, the call channel s montored durng tr-watch. The
call channels can be re-programmed (p. 11) and are used to
store your most often used channels n each channel group
for quck recall.

] for 1 sec. to select the call channel n the se-

lected channel group.
• "CALL" and the call channel number appear.
• Each channel group may have ts own call channel after pro-
grammng a call channel. See the "Call channel programmng"
on p. 11 for detals.
w Push [DIAL] to return to the condton before selectng the
call channel, or push [Y]/[Z] to select the operatng chan-
nel.
