BASIC OPERATION
■ Adjusting the volume level
The volume level can be adjusted wth [+]/[–].
➥ Push [+]/[–] to adjust the volume level.
• "VOL" ndcator starts blnkng.
• There are 32 volume levels to choose.
• When no key s pushed for 5 sec., the transcever returns to
normal condton.

■ Adjusting the squelch level
The IC-M31 has a squelch level adjustment, even though there
s no control knob for t. In order to receve sgnals properly, as
well as for the scan to functon effectvely, the squelch must be
adjusted to the proper level.
q Push [SQL•
], then adjust the squelch level wth [+]/[–].

- "SQL" ndcator starts blnkng.
- There are 11 squelch levels to choose from: "OP" s completely
open; "10" s tght squelch; "1" s loose squelch level.
- When no key s pushed for 5 sec., the transcever returns to
normal condton.
