Platen Removal

1. Follow the disassembly preparation procedure (see page 3-8).
2. Remove the upper housing (see page 3-9).
3. Remove the 2 CBS (M3 × 8) screws securing the platen cover. See Figure 3-8.
4. Rotate the platen shaft holders on either end of the platen until the tabs on the holders line up with the
cutouts on the two side frames.
5. Slide the platen slightly to the right, then lift up to remove it.
CAUTION
When replacing the platen, perform the platen gap adjustment (see Chapter 4).
