completely inoperative
Shortening not heating
Foaming or boiling over
Shortening not draining
Filter motor won't run

A. Too Dark
B. Too Light

SECTION 4. TROUBLESHOOTING
Cause
• Open circuit
• Gas valve knob turned to the
OFF position
• Drain valve open
• High temperature limit tripped
• See Boil-Over chart on fryer
and beginning of Operation
Section in this manual
• Drain valve clogged
• Motor overheated
• Temperature too high
• Breading to far in advance
• Temperature too low
• Fryer incorrect preheat
• Wrong product button pressed
• Shortening old
• Temperature too low
• Frypot overloaded
• Product not removed from frypot
immediately after end of cycle
or 1-800-417-8405 or 1-937-456-8405
Model OFG- 390
Correction
• Fryer plugged in
• Check breaker or fuse at wall
• Make sure gas control valve knob is
turned to the ON position
• Close drain valve
• Reset high temperature limit; see
Operating Controls Section
• Follow boil-over procedures from
chart.
• Push cleaning rod through open
drain valve.
• Reset motor; see Filter Motor Protector-
Manual Reset Section
• Check temperature setting in the Program
Mode
• Bread product closer to frying period
• Check temperature setting in the Program
Mode
• Allow proper preheat time
• Be sure to press the correct product to
be cooked
• Replace shortening
• Check temperature setting in the Program
Mode
• Reduce cooking load
• Remove product form frypot promptly
