If you secure a child in a forward-facing
child restraint system on the co-driver's
seat and the co-driver's front airbag is not
deactivated (e.g. in vehicles without auto-
matic child seat recognition on the co-driv-
er's or in vehicles with automatic child seat
recognition on the co-driver's seat and if the
PASSENGER AIRBAG OFF warning lamp is
not lit), always position the co-driver's seat
in its rearmost position.
Information about recommended child re-
straint systems is available at any
Mercedes-Benz Service Centre.
Do not place any objects, e.g. a cushion,
under the child restraint system. The entire
base of the child restraint system must al-
ways be resting on the seat cushion. An in-
correctly fitted child restraint system cannot
perform its intended protective function in
the event of an accident, and could even
lead to injuries.

Automatic child seat recognition on
the co-driver's seat
If your vehicle does not have automatic
child seat recognition on the co-driver's
seat, this is indicated by a special sticker.
The sticker is affixed to the side of the
dashboard on the co-driver's side. It is visi-
ble when you open the co-driver's door.
