Multi cards include a 10-bit on-board hardware scaler, and support a full range of broadcast-quality video/audio inputs and outputs in NTSC and PAL, as well as 480p, 720p, 1080p, and 1080i resolutions at all frame rates.
To avoid damage, please observe the following precautions: • Do not remove your Matrox Multi card from its antistatic bag until you’re ready to install it. Before removing the card, place the package within easy reach of the area where you intend to perform the installation.
If you will connect an external genlock source to Multi’s REF IN connector, and you plan on using the REF OUT connector, set the genlock switch to HI-Z . If the REF OUT connector will not be used, set the switch to 75Ω...
Ensure that the genlock loop-through switch on the card is set as desired (see “Setting the genlock loop-through switch” on page 5). Insert the Matrox Multi card in an available PCIe slot in your Mac Pro or Xserve, and secure the card into place. ²Caution...

To use Multi’s RS-422 serial connector for device control, connect the Multi cable to your Mac system, and then connect the RS-422 cable on the Multi cable to the RS-422 serial connector on your external device.
