Introduction

This chapter describes the settings in the Matrox Multi preferences window for
configuring your Multi card, and explains how to view information about your
Multi card, such as the serial number and software version.
Depending on your Multi hardware, some of the options described in this chapter
may not be available, and your Matrox Multi preferences window may not appear
exactly as shown.
¡ Important Before defining your settings, make sure that your Matrox Multi
card is installed in your system.

Matrox Multi card selection and settings

This section explains how to select a Multi card for configuration in a system
with more than one Multi card installed, and how the Multi card settings are
stored.
You can specify different settings for each Multi card in your system by
switching between the cards in the Multi preferences window. A Multi card's
settings are automaticaly stored in your system, and appear in the Multi
preferences window when the card is selected.
Multi card settings are stored by PCIe slot and Multi card type. For example, if
you specify settings for a Multi-Playback card installed in PCIe slot #1, the
"Multi-Playback" settings are linked to that PCIe slot. If you move the card to
another PCIe slot in your system, you must re-define your settings. However, the
"Multi-Playback" settings for PCIe slot #1 remain in your system and apply to
any Multi-Playback card installed in PCIe slot #1. By switching the type of Multi
card in a PCIe slot and defining its settings, you can use the same PCIe slot for
different types of Multi cards. Since the settings are stored by card type, your
system can store one setting for each type of Multi card for each PCIe slot.
° To select a Matrox Multi card for configuration:
From the Apple menu, click System Preferences , and then click the
