Section 7 Setting Up - Macintosh

Installation Using the Chooser Window

Basic Configuration
Having connected the AXIS 1620 to your network, this section now
describes how to set up your AXIS 1620 for printing in Macintosh
environments using AppleTalk.
If you intend to operate your AXIS 1620 in a multiprotocol
environment, you should also proceed to the other relevant sections in
this manual, namely:
Section 4 Setting Up - NetWare, on page 35
Section 5 Setting Up - Windows, on page 45
Section 6 Setting Up - OS/2, on page 71
Section 8 Setting Up - UNIX, on page 83
Basic configuration in AppleTalk is performed simply by opening the
Chooser window and selecting a printer.
You can change the default name of your AXIS 1620 or any of default
parameters by editing the config file. To access the config file from a
Macintosh, you can use:
any Java enabled Web browser
FTP using MacTCP, Fetch or Anarchie
In order to use any of the methods, you must assign an IP address to
the AXIS 1620 as described in Setting Parameters, on page 81.
