Using the Call Director

If you have more than one handset
registered to your 3016 base station, the
Call Director enables a caller to ring a
specific handset.
When the Call Director is switched on,
your callers will hear your announcement
telling them to dial the internal number
for the handset they want. A typical
announcement could be: "Thank you for
calling. Dial 1 for Paul, dial 2 for Jane,
dial 3 for John. Or press the star button to
call all of us".
When your caller dials the handset
number given, only that handset will ring.
If the handset is not answered after
several rings, then all handsets will ring.
If the answering machine is also switched
on and the call is not answered, your
caller will hear the outgoing message
you have selected to be played and then
be able to leave a message.
Please note
Your answering machine will play the
outgoing message you have set providing it
is Announcement 1 or Announcement 2.
If 'announcement only' is set, the answering
machine will not answer the call.
If you do not record your own announcement
telling callers which handset number to dial,
they will hear the pre-recorded message
"Please call subscriber".
