Operating the answering machine from an
outside phone (Touchtone
Keeping your messages private
when calling from another phone
Please note that when calling from another
phone, you will need to enter your 4-digit
base station PIN before you can hear your
messages or change the settings. This is a
security measure to prevent others from
unauthorised access to your messages.
You MUST change the base station PIN from
0000
. Keep a record of the new number in
the box provided at the front of this user
guide. For instructions on how to change
the Diverese 3016 Classic base station
PIN code refer to page 34.
To switch on your answering machine
from another external telephone
If you go out and forget to switch your
answering machine on, you can switch it
on from another phone.

• Dial your number.
• Let the phone ring. After 17 rings, your
Diverse 3016 will automatically answer
the call. The voice says "Please enter
your PIN code".
• Press the
