On and Off modes

To switch the handset on and off
You can normally leave your handset on
24 hours a day. However, if you need to
switch it off:
Press and hold the
down for about 1 second. You hear a
long beep and the screen goes blank.
To switch it back on, press and hold
down the
RED PHONE
a long beep and the display returns to
standby.
To switch the keypad lock on and off
You can lock the keypad so that it
cannot be used accidentally while
carrying it around.

The keypad is now locked and you
cannot dial out. Incoming calls can be
answered as normal by pressing the
GREEN PHONE
Press and hold the
display returns to standby. The keypad
is now unlocked.

Making and
receiving calls
To make an external call
Ensure the handset is switched ON.
• Press the
GREEN PHONE
will hear the dial tone.
• Dial the number. The phone calls the
number and the display shows the
number you have dialled.
Alternatively, you can enter the phone
number you want first, check that it is
correct, and then press the
button to dial.

If another handset is already being used to
make an external call, your handset will
display ' – – – ' f lashing and you will hear
the internal 'busy' signal.
To end a call
• Press the
RED PHONE

• Place the handset back on the base
station.
