ID Slave

Communications with ID Tags
With the ID Slave, the operating mode is set on the mode switch and the command is selected to
communicate with the ID Tags.
Operating Mode
There are four operating modes.
For the mode settings, refer to Names and Functions of Components in Section 2.
Trigger Mode
When the ID Tag on a workpiece or palette moves within the communications range of the Antenna, it
is detected by a sensor or a switch. A control signal (trigger signal) is output from the PLC to the ID
Slave, which triggers the ID Slave to begin communications with the ID Tag. The ID Slave reads the
Tag data and outputs the results to the PLC.

Auto Mode
When the ID Tag of a workpiece or palette is within the communications range of the Antenna, the ID
Slave automatically begins communications with the ID Tag and outputs the result to the PLC.
