6.2.1

Replacing FC Cards

The procedure to replace an FC card is as follows:

CAUTION
When you detect abnormality of the ETERNUS DX Disk storage
system, contact your maintenance engineer immediately.
When changing the configuration, record the change by using the
memo page in "User's Guide -Server Connection-" and so on.
Before replacing an FC card, use ETERNUS Web GUI or ETERNUS CLI to
check the WWN or host affinity of the FC card that is to be removed, and record
this setting for later use.
Replace the server-side FC card.
Turn off the server for which the FC card is to be replaced.
Replace the FC card.
For details of the replacement procedure, refer to the manuals supplied with the FC
card.
Adjust the settings as necessary, using ETERNUS Web GUI or ETERNUS CLI.
Delete the setting of WWN or host affinity set to the removed FC card.
Referring to the information recorded in
host affinity of the new FC card in the ETERNUS DX Disk storage system.
When the setting is complete, confirm that the server can access the ETERNUS
DX Disk storage system.
