TCP/IP printing in Windows 2000 and Windows XP

If you intend to use the AXIS 5900 in a multi-protocol
environment, you should also refer to the following sections:
Section 6 Setting Up - NetWare, on page 58
Section 7 Setting Up - Macintosh, on page 66
Section 8 Setting Up - UNIX, on page 73
Note:
Installation instructions for Windows 3.1, WfW and OS/2 are found on the Axis
web site www.axis.com.
Follow the instructions below to use the standard Windows
method for adding a printer in Windows 2000/XP:
Go to Start | Settings | Printers and click the Add Printer icon to
start the Add Printer Wizard. Select the appropriate radio
button:
• Local printer - If you are connecting directly to the print server
(peer-to-peer printing), select Local Printer and click Next. Click
the Create a new port radio button and select Standard TCP/IP
Port from the list. Follow the Add Standard TCP/IP Port Wizard
to complete the installation (You need to know the IP address of
your print server and the model of the connected printer).
• Network printer - If your print server has already been installed
by the administrator on another computer, select Network printer
and click Next. Follow the instructions in the Add Printer Wizard
to complete the installation.
