Section 6 Setting Up - NetWare
Public Access
Controlled Access
To create a public access printer using the NDPS Manager object
in your NetWare administrator, do the following:
1. Double-click on the NDPS Manager object you will be using to
control the Printer Agents.
2. At the Identification page for the NDPS Manager, click the
printer Agent List button. The Printer Agent List dialog will
appear.
3. Click New. The Create Printer Agent dialog will appear.
4. Type a name of your choice in the NDPS Printer Agent field.
5. Choose the Axis Gateway configuration in the Gateway Type
window. Select TCP/IP or IPX as transport protocol. (See Note
below).
6. Click OK.
7. Once you have completed the required tasks, you are ready to
print in your NDPS environment. Use the Novell Print Manager to
install the Public Access Printer on the client workstation.
Notes:
• The Public Access print servers are immediately available for everyone on the
network.
• The Axis Gateway Configuration Utility is an installation and configuration
tool for NDPS printers in the NetWare environment. The Axis Gateway will
appear in NetWare 5.1 and later releases. To use the Axis Gateway with earlier
versions of NetWare, you can download the Axis Gateway Configuration
Utility from www.axis.com.
• To print using TCP/IP, Axis print server firmware 6.1 or later is required. In
order to print using IPX/SPX, Axis print server firmware 5.51 or later is needed.
1. Make sure that the HP NDPS Gateway is not configured to
automatically create a public access printer, before you connect
the AXIS 5900 to the network.
2. Connect the AXIS 5900 to the NetWare network.
