5. (Optional) Connect your computer's disk activity LED cable to the LED connector on the HBA (marked
on the figures in About Your Host Bus Adapter
Ensure that the positive lead of the LED cable (usually a red wire or a wire marked with a red stripe)
is attached to pin 1.
6. Connect serial cables between the HBA and internal or external disk drives, as required:
• For an HBA with external ports, connect serial cables between the HBA and external disk drives
or enclosures:

7. Close your computer cabinet, reconnect the power cord and network cables, then power up the
