_J FRONT INSTALLATION
Insta, the front grille(packed separately) onto the
cabinet as follows:
• Hook upper tabs of front gdlte into slots on the
cabinet top. (FIG. 19)
• Push front grille's tips towards the cabinet in order
to snap side tabs into the cabinet. (FIG. 19)
• Open the inlet grille. (FIG. 20)
• Install the screw (ITEM E) through the front grille.

STORM WINDOW FRAME
• If stormwindow presents interference, fasten a 2"
wide wood stripto the inner window siltacross the full
width of the sill.The wood strip shouldbe thick
enough to raise the height of the window sill sothat
the unit can be installedwithout interference from the
the storm windowframe. See FIG. 22.
Top of wood strip shouldbe approximately 3/4"
higher than the storm window frame to help
condensation to drain properly to the outside.
• Install a second wood stdp (approximately 6" long by
1f/2"wide and same thickness as first stdp) in the
center of the outer sill flush against the back of the
inner sill.Screw the L brackets into this strip.
This will raise the L bracket as shown in FIG. 22.

REMOVAL FROM WINDOW
• Turn offand unplug the air conditioner.
• Remove the frontgrille. See HOW TO REMOVE THE
FRONT GRILLE. Refer to page 13.
• Unscrewthe side screwsthat you installedin Step 15.
• Slide the air conditionerout ofthe cabinet.
BE CAREFUL NOT TO DROP IT. Holdontoit firmly the
whole way slidingit out. Once removed,set it safety out
of the way.
• Remove the L bracketfrom windowframe andthe sash
seal from between the windows.
• Unscrewthe side curtainsfrom the windowframe. Fold
them backto the sides ofthe cabinet.
• Remove screwsattachingcabinetto innersill.Be careful
notto let cabinetfall once screws are removed,
• Remove cabinetfrom windowopening.
• Place air conditionerintocabinet.Reinstallside screws
and FrontGrille.
• Place unitand all assemblyhardwarein air conditioner
shippingcarton,and storein dean, dPj place.
• Airconditioners covered in this manual pose an
excessiveweighthazard.Two or more people
are neededto moveand install the unit.
To preventinjuryor strain,use properliftingand
carryingtechniques when movingunit.
• When handlingthe air conditioner, b e carefulto
avoidcutsfrom sharpmetalfins on front and
rear coils.
• Make sure air conditioner does not fall during
removal
