do not select too wide a width or too long a stitch – the
edge should lie flat and not roll

needle goes into fabric on one side and over the edge
into the air on the other side

use a fine darning thread for lightweight fabric

dense stitch used for appliqué, embroidery, etc.
►
shorten stitch length, satin stitch setting will be indicated
by parallel lines on stitch length bar
►
