Device Parameters

The following table provides a list of the parameters in the Add Device and Modify Device dialog
boxes.

Description
IP address of the device.
The IP subnet mask.
The MAC address of the agent.
The name or best name of the device.
Type of device. Possible types are:
Auto Discover - Avaya Network Management Server polls
the device to determine the device type.
Avaya Device - Where Avaya Device is the name of an Avaya
Device.
Generic SNMP - For other SNMP Devices.
Generic IP - For IP Devices that do not use SNMP.
Other Device - Where Other Device is another recognized
device type.
The managed status of the device. Possible statuses are:
Manage - The device is managed by Network Management.
Un-manage - The device is not managed by Network
Management.
The SNMP protocol. Possible SNMP protocols are:
Snmp V1
Snmp V3
The device's read community. Only applicable for SNMP protocol
V1.
The device's write community. Only applicable for SNMP protocol
V1.
A user name as defined in the Avaya Secure Access Administration
application. Only applicable for SNMP protocol V3.
