9. Click Add to add the new rule, and then click OK to exit the configuration.
10. Continue to the section titled "Configuring Bindings" appropriate to your configuration
(single or dual NICs).
Configuring Bindings (Single NIC)
This section provides instructions for configuring the network bindings if your cluster has a
single NIC configuration. If your cluster has a dual NIC configuration, refer to the following
Dual NIC section.
To configure bindings for a single NIC cluster configuration:
1. Click the Bindings tab under the Network Settings Dialog, and select All Protocols
from the Show Bindings pulldown.
2. Click on each protocol to expand it.
3. For each protocol, select the WebScale Virtual NIC, and then select Move Up to move
the WebScale protocol above the dedicated adapter (this adapter is the physical NIC).
4. Select the dedicated adapter under the TCP/IP and WINS Client protocols, and click
Disable so only the WebScale Virtual NIC adapter is enabled.
NOTE
Both adapters (virtual and dedicated) should still be enabled, or bound, under the WebScale
Driver Protocol.
5. Click the Protocols tab, and click Yes to save the changes. The Microsoft TCP/IP
Properties dialog displays.
6. Click Adapter. The WebScale Virtual NIC adapter should be the only adapter visible.
7. Configure the TCP/IP settings for this adapter as if it were the dedicated network
adapter (with the node's real IP address information, not the cluster's virtual IP address
information), and then click Advanced.
8. Under IP Addresses, click Add to add the cluster's IP address. After entering the IP
address, you should see two IP addresses in the list: the node's real IP address and the
cluster's virtual IP address. Click OK.
9. Click OK again to confirm the network bindings, and then close the Network Settings
dialog.
Disabled
Blocks all traffic to the port. This option is
useful for providing a firewall against
unwanted network access to your cluster.
