Existing IP information: The IP addresses and subnet masks
for any existing NICs on the system. If using multiple NICs of
the same model, take note of the instance number of each NIC
to differentiate between these interfaces during configuration.
Verify that the NIC, interface driver, and Domain Name Service (DNS) configurations are
correct on your server:
u
You can verify the NIC functionality by pinging or connecting to a remote system.
u
Verify with your DNS administrator that an entry has been made into your DNS
database to resolve the Full Internet Name of the cluster to the Primary IP Address. If
the fully-qualified name for the cluster is not resolvable to the Cluster IP Address, then
use of the Final License Key will not be possible.
NOTE
The Primary IP address is specific to the cluster , and does not address any individual server.
This address may also be referred to as the cluster IP address or virtual address.
Determine if your router supports proxy Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) for multicast
Media Access Control (MAC) addresses. If not, you will need to create a static ARP entry in
your router to resolve the Primary IP Address to the Cluster's MAC address (as displayed in
the WebScale Setup Dialog, once Setup is complete).
NOTE
Cisco routers must have a static ARP entry because they do not support proxy ARP for
multicast MAC addresses.
