To Prevent Extensions from using the Public Address System
1. From the programming extension, press the PROGRAM key.
2. Press the Scroll Down key ( ) until "System Programming" is displayed.
3. Select "System Programming".
4. Enter the System Programming Password and select "Extensions".
5. Press the Scroll Down key ( ) until "Restrict Use Of PA" is displayed.
6. Select "Restrict Use Of PA".
7. Select the extensions you wish to prevent from using the PA system. A "♦" is displayed beside the
extensions that are restricted.
To Move a Faulty Extension
If an extension interface becomes faulty, you can swap its extension programming to a different extension. Calls
for the faulty extension will be routed to the new extension.
1. From the Programming extension, press the PROGRAM key.
2. Select "System Programming".
3. Enter the System Programming password and select "Extensions".
4. Press the Scroll Down key ( ) until "Port Swapping" is displayed.
5. Select "Port Swapping".
6. Select the faulty extension from the extension list.
7. Select the new extension from the extension list.
Hot Line
Extensions can be programmed so that they automatically dial a number when they go off-hook. The number
dialed can be an extension or an external number.
From the programming extension, press the PROGRAM key.
1. Press the Scroll Down key ( ) until "System Programming" is displayed.
2. Select "System Programming".
3. Enter the System Programming Password and select "Extensions".
4. Press the Scroll Down key ( ) until "Hot Line" is displayed.
5. Select "Hot Line".
6. Select the extension from the extension menu.
7. Enter the number to be dialed. If you wish to dial an external number, enter 9 or another line access code,
before the external telephone number, to select a line.
NOTE: When a Feature Phone is programmed as a hot line, no other features can be invoked after it is
programmed. As soon as you go off-hook on the Feature Phone, the number is dialed.
NOTE: A common application for the hot line feature is for a fax or modem. The extension can be set to
automatically select a CO line so the fax or modem does not have to dial 9.
NOTE: The Hot line feature cannot be programmed on extension 20.
To Set up Manager / Assistant Combinations
1. From the programming extension, press the PROGRAM key.
2. Press the Scroll Down key ( ) until "System Programming" is displayed.
3. Select "System Programming".
4. Enter the System Programming Password and select "Extensions".
5. Press the Scroll Down key ( ) until "Manager / Assistant" is displayed.
6. Select "Manager / Assistant".
7. Select the assistant extension. When selected, the menu changes to allow you to select the manager
extension(s).
8. Select the manager extension(s). Manager extensions will be indicated by a "♦" alongside. (If the extension
has been combined previously with an assistant the existing manager extensions will be indicated with a
"♦". Selecting an extension with a "♦" will remove that extension as a manager of that assistant).
