4-17. Needle-to-hook relation

WARNING :
To protect against possible personal injury due to abrupt start of the machine, be sure to start the
following work after turning the power off and ascertaining that the motor is at rest.

• Adjust the needle and the hook as follows.
) Set the sttch dal at 2 for the A or F type, 2.5 for the S type or 3 for the G type.
2) Turn the handwheel to brng the needle bar to the lowest poston and loosen needle bar connectng stud
clampng screw 1 .
3) �etermne the heght of needle bar. The upper two of engraved marker lnes are for �Px5(34) needle,
and the lower two of them are for �P X 7(35x7) needle.
[Adjusting procedure for DPx5(134) needle]
Adjust top engraved marker lne A of needle bar 2 to the bottom end of needle bar rockng base 3 , and
tghten the needle bar connectng stud clampng screw 1 . At ths tme, the needle bar goes up by 2.2 mm
from the lowest poston (adjust the second engraved marker lne B to the bottom end of needle bar rockng
base 3 ) and the blade pont of hook algns wth the center of needle. Then the dstance between the top end
of needle eyelet and the blade pont of hook becomes .2 mm.

Use the lower two of the engraved marker lnes, and perform the adjustment by the same procedure as that
of [Adjustng procedure for �Px5(34) needle].
Turn sttch dal 1 counterclockwse (clockwse) to
set the value on the dal correspondng to a desred
sttch length to the marker dot 3 engraved on the
machne arm.
When t s hard to turn sttch dal 1 , turn t whle

slghtly depressng reverse feed control lever 2 .
• Reverse feed operation
) �epress reverse feed control lever 2 .
