OPress the CHANNEL UP or DOWN button to
scan through the guide channels in the VCR's
memory.
NOTE: If the VCR Plus+ guide number is the
same as the number you select to watch that
channel on your TV, no entry is necessarty. For
example, if you receive CBS on channel 8 and
its VCR Plus+ guide number is 8, no entry is
necessary.
In certain areas, some channels have been
assigned more than one VCR Plus+ guide
channel number. Enter that channel number next
to both GUIDE CH number on the CHANNEL
MAPPING menu.
You may want to complete a chart
like this on a separate piece of
paper with the VCR Plus+ guide
channels and their corresponding
names and channel numbers.
Preparing this list will help you
enter the numbers more quickly
in step 6.

The examples below may help you determine where
the numbers can be found and in which column they
belong.
A. Examples for cable-TV users
• If the published VCR Plus+ guide channel number
for ABC is 04 and you tune your -IV to channel 05
to watch ABC, you would enter number 05 in the
CATV CH column next to 04 in the GUIDE CH
column as shown.
• If CBS' published guide channel is 05 and you
watch CBS on channel 07, you would enter 07 in
the CATV CH column next to 05 in the GUIDE CH
column as shown.

If the published VCR Plus+ guide number for PBS
(Public Broadcast Service) is 07 and you tune your
TV to channel 38 to watch PBS, you wou;d enter
number 38 in the TV CH column next to 07 in the
GUIDE CH column as shown.

OAfter you have determined which channel
numbers need to be entered, repeatedly press
the CHANNEL up or down button to position the
guide channel number on the line marked with an
arrow. Then press number buttons to enter the
channel number in the CATV CH (or TV CH)
column. Follow this procedure to enter all
necessary channel numbers.
NOTE:If you enter an incorrect number, press
CLEAR and then re-enter the correct number.
OAfter you have entered the necessary channel
numbers, press the VCR Plus+ button to store
the channels in memory. You can now use VCR
Plus+ to record as described on pages 48 and
49.
