Dialing Back
Whenreviewing CallerID records,you may dial backthe phone numbers shown on
the display by pressingthe DIALbutton.
If you programmed your local area code in the setup menu
1. Usethe SKIPor REPEAT b utton to scroll to the numberyou want to dial.
• If you seea number with 7 digits (i.e.555-1238),then the call was receivedfrom
within your area code. However,this does not guarantee the call is a localcall.
• If you seea number with 11 digits (i.e.1-238-555-1234), t hen the call receivedwas
not from your area code.
2. Pressthe DIALbutton and the screen displaysPICKUP or ADJ.A 10 second
timer alsostarts in the upper right sideof the display,letting you know the time
remaininguntil the unit returns to the SummaryScreen.If you adjust the number to
be dialed,the timer automatically resetsitself.
3. Toadjust the phone number,pressthe DIALbutton. Forinstance,a 7-digit local
number sometimescannot be dialed becauseit requiresa lO-digit or 11-digit
format. Press the DIALbutton repeatedlyto scroll through the 7, 10,and 11-digit
numbers.

lO-digits:
11-digits:
7-digit telephonenumber (i.e.555-5555)
3-digit area code + 7-digit telephone number (i.e.425-555-5555)
long distancecode 1 + 3-digit area code+ 7-digit telephonenumber
(i.e.1-425-555-5555)
4. Todial the displayednumber,pick up the handset or pressthe SPEAKERPHONE
button beforethe timer reachesO.ThescreendisplaysNOW DIALINGand the
number is dialed.
