Video Adjustments
1 Press MENU to display

Picture-In-Picture (PIP)
usingmasterremote controIFor details,seepages/8-2].
Turn on the TV and select the channel you want to watch on
the big picture. Press the PiPbutton to turn on the little
picture.
Press the CHANNEL up or down button or two number
buttons to select a channel on the little picture.
Notes: The remote must be in the "TV mode" when you press the
PIPbutton. To put the remote in the "TV mode", press the rv
button.
After you press the PIP button, pressing the CHANNELup or down
button will automatically
change channels
on the small picture.
PIP will appear in the channel number display.
To change channels on the big picture, press the "rv button and then
the CHANNELup or down or two number buttons.
Whenever you have the PIP feature turned on, you can move,
enlarge, reduce, or freeze the little picture, or swap the big
and little picture.
Note: The remote must be in the 'q'V mode" to operate the special
PIP functions. To put the remote in the "TV mode", press the TV
button.
3 To turn PIP off, press the OFFbutton next to the Pipbutton on
the master remote control.
Adjusting for a Color Picture that Pleases You
1 Decrease
color to minimum.
This will leave a black-and-white
image on the
screen.
2 Adjust contrast until the picture pleases you.
3 Adjust brightness until the black parts of the picture appear black.
You may
need to wait until the picture shows something
you are sure is black.
Be
careful not to lose the details in darkly shaded areas.
4 Increase color until you reach a pleasing level of intensity.
5 Adjust tint until flesh tones or other color objects appear natural.
6 Adjust sharpness for a pleasing level of picture sharpness.
(For weak
signals, the picture may be more pleasing with sharpness decreased.)
7 Set the Auto Color, Color temp, and Noise Reduce features for your personal
preference.
Note: You can save and restore your video adjustments. You can also reset the video
adjustments to factory settings. Details are on page 38.
To adjust the Equalizer settings, use the +, -, and MENUbuttons. Follow the help
screens on the bottom of the TV screen. Details are on pages 26-27.
To adjust the Headphonevolume function, press + to increase, or - to decrease the
headphone volume. Details are on page 25.
To adjust the Balance function, press the + or - button until the sound seems to
originate from a point halfway between the speakers.
To select an audio
Mode, press MENU to see the eight different
audio mode
choices,
then press + or - to highlight
one of the eight modes.
Then press MENU to
turn on the highlighted
mode.

Note:
You can quickly select one of the eight audio modes by repeatedly
pressing
the
SURR (surround)
button on the master remote control.
To adjust one of the Setup menus after you have selected an audio mode, press +
or - and then press the MENU button. Details are on page 28-36.
To adjust the Volume limiter function, press + or - to adjust. Details are on page 24.
Using Other Video Input Sources with PIP For details,see page 19
The PIP feature can also be used with video sources (such as VCR's
and camcorders)
that are connected to the INPUT1 or INPUT2 jacks on
the back of the TV. You can only view the picture from one set of
INPUTjacks at a time. The picture from the iNPUTjacks can be viewed
on either the large picture or the small picture.
Note: S-VHS video can only be viewed on the main picture. If you plan to
view the picture from the INPUT jacks in the small picture, be sure to connect
the normal video cable to the VIDEO INPUT jack.
To see the signal from a source connected
to the INPUT jacks, select
channel 91 or 92. Repeatedly
press the INPUTbutton on the master
remote or press two number buttons.
• Select channel 91 if the other video source is connected
to the TV's
INPUT 1
jacks.
• Select channel 92 if the other video source is connected
to the TV's
INPUT 2
jacks.
