Programming Remote to Control Cable Boxes
If your cable box has its own remote to change channels,
you will probably be able to program the TV's remote to
control both the TV and the device. To program the
remote, just press and hold the DSS.CABLE b utton, then enter
the two-digit code number for your brand of cable box.
Refer to the chart below to find the code number for your
cable box. Press the POWER button next to confirm
operation. You may need to try each of the code numbers
listed until you find the one that works.

for the latest list of brand names and code numbers. Because this list is
constantly growing, the information sheet packed with your remote
control may be a later vers;ion of this list and contain additional brands

After the TV's remote is programmed, you'll be able to
turn on the cable box by pressing the OSS.CABLE b utton, then
POWER. You can change channels on the cable box by
pressing the CHANNEL b uttons whenever the remote is in the
"cable" mode. To put the remote in the "cable mode",
press the CABLE button. Press the TVbutton to put the
remote back into the TV mode so the remote buttons will
control the TV again.

Refer to the chart at the left to find the code number that
corresponds to the brand name of your cable box. Keep
this number in mind. If more than one number is listed,
you may need to try each one separately until you find the
one that works.
1 Press and hold DSS.CABLE button on remote.
2 Press two number buttons (first one,.then the other) to enter
the code number for your brand of cable box.
3 Point the remote at the cable box and press the power button
to test the code number.
o If the right number was entered, tile cable box should turn
on. Pressing the CHANNEL buttons should then also change
channels on the cable'box.
• If the cablebox does not react to the remote (or if the remote
turns on the cablebox but does not change channels), repeat
steps 1thru 3 with another code number•
Operating Notes: After the remote is programmed, it will turn on
the cable box whenever you press DSS'CABLE a nd then POWER.
To turn off the cable box, press OSS'CAeLE, then POWER.
To change channels on the cable box, press DSS'CABLE then CUANNEL
up or down.

The TV's •remote has been pre-programme d to.control the •
DSS Digital Satellite System receiver.
To control DSS receiver, first press the OSS-CABLE button to
put the remote in the "DSS mode". The buttons shown
below will then control the DSS receiver.
