Select a buttonhole template _4_.Pull back the guide plate
catch (5_, and slide the template into the guide plate (3_ to
get the desired buttonhole. Release the catch to lock the
template into place. Insert the gear_7_of the base plate into
the template guide slot (1_so that the guide block (2)fits into
the center of the guide slot.

Attach the buttonhole foot _3_.Adjust the position of the
gear(4_, so it is aligned with the starting point of the
template_6_. The lever can be used to change gear
positions. Pull the bobbin thread up through the guide slot
of the buttonhole guide plate by turning the handwheel
counterclockwise while holding the needle thread. Place
the bobbin and needle threads to the left side of the guide
plate. Leave 3" to 4" (7.0 to 10.0 cm) of thread.
