CONFIGURING THE CLIENT
Automatically configuring the
client
Use the Auto Configuration function to
automatically connect the client to the server.
Before performing the Auto Configuration, be sure
to:
Complete all connections for the client and its
companion components.
Upgrade the MusicCAST system firmware on
both the server and the client.
Set the server to Auto Configuration mode. For
details, see the MCX-1000 Owner's Manual,
page 106.
Client operation:

Press and hold MENU until the Top
Menu screen is displayed.

Press u / d to choose "Setup" then
press SELECT.

Press u / d to choose "Network" then
press SELECT.

Press u / d to choose "Auto
Configuration" then press SELECT.

Press p to begin the Auto
Configuration process.
If the client finds more than one server, it
displays all the servers it finds in the front panel
display. In this case, press u / d to choose the
ID of the server you want to use, then press
SELECT.
Press j to cancel the Auto Configuration
process without making any changes.

The client attempts to connect to the
server.
The Client ID of the client being configured
appears on the on-screen display of the server.
Server operation:
Press u / d / j / i on the server remote
control to move the cursor to "OK", then
press SELECT.
The server restarts its network hardware. This may
take up to five minutes.
When the Auto Configuration process is complete,
the following message appears in the client's front
panel display.
Complete!
