6. Preventive Maintenance

This chapter describes procedures for printer preventive
maintenance. Following these recommendations can help prevent
problems and maintain optimum performance.

Lubrication

Warning: Petroleum-based lubricants can attack polycarbonate
parts causing premature failure. Use only mineral oil-based
lubricant.
The following parts should be lubricated when replaced:

Tractor unit
•
Side frame (left)
•
Side frame (right)
•
Pinch roller (lower)
•
Pinch roller spring (left)
•
Pinch roller spring (center)
•
Pinch roller spring (right)
•
Paper separator
