Description
-U activates a terminal mode session. USERNAME
corresponds to the ASCII text for the username.
<password> represents a printable password (up to
16 characters). If <password> is not provided, then a
Null password (all binary 0's) is submitted. Passwords
are case sensitive.
Either the SYS PWD command or the Activate
Session IPMI message must be successfully executed
before any command or IPMI messages are accepted.
NOTE:
A modem connection may be automatically
dropped if multiple bad passwords are entered.
-N represents a Null username and <password>
represents a printable password (up to 16 characters).
If <password> is not provided, then a Null password
(all binary 0's) is submitted. Passwords are case
sensitive.
Either the SYS PWD command or the Activate
Session IPMI message must be successfully executed
before any command or IPMI messages are accepted.
NOTE:
A modem connection may be automatically
dropped if multiple bad passwords are entered.
-X immediately logs out any presently active session.
NOTE:
Entering an invalid password with -U or -N does
not allow you to log on.
