Using the DP-2800 Utility

The DP-2800 Utility works with the PPDs like the DP-2800 Driver, but performs more
network and management functions than job related functions. In the Utility, the user
can view the list of network Postscript printers. To start the Utility, double click on the
DP-2800 Utility icon located on the desktop.
Components of the DP-2800 Utility are described below.
• PostScript Printers- presents a list of the network Postscript printers. Any of the
listed printers can be selected by the DP-2800 Utility.
• AppleTalk Zones- displays the AppleTalk zones established for the Macintosh
network.
• Print Requested Info- a check box for instructing the utility to send information to
the printer when Printer Info or List Fonts is selected. Printer info will generate a
printer information page with the following information displayed:
Product Name Firmware Revision PostScript Version
PostScript Language Level Maximum Available Memory
Memory in Use Save Nesting Levels Total Pages Printed
Startup Page
The List Fonts selection queries the printer to generate a list of all the fonts, resident
and non-resident, currently found in the printer.
