Transparent Proxy

If you want to provide a reliable and easy HTTP scanning service in your
network with F-Secure Internet Gatekeeper, you should use a transparent
proxy. For information about different methods that you can use when

down and is not interrupted when scanning the traffic for malicious code,

A proxy server is a system which acts as an agent between the server
and the client. A typical proxy server serves one or multiple Internet
protocols, such as HTTP (Hyper-Text Transfer Protocol) and SMTP
(Simple Mail Transfer Protocol). The proxy server may modify the
requests that pass through it, which provides more functionality for clients.
This proxy technology is used in F-Secure Internet Gatekeeper to
intercept and scan data for viruses and malicious code.
Usually HTTP proxy server is used by specifying the proxy host name and
the port number manually in the web browser and other web-based
software. If the proxy is configured like this, it is not transparent. You may
