  • Page 12 Assembling the Glass Plate Bookeye ® 4 scanner exists in two chassis versions, internally named as BE4-V2A and BE4-V2B The description of the assembling starts with the chassis version BE4-V2A. BE4-V2A Bookeye ® 4 in the correct position at the working desk. That means that all Move the bottom side screws must be accessible.

  • Page 23 Moving the V-Glass plate horizontally The V-Glass plate can be moved to the right and to the left, to position the V-Glass plate exactly over the book binding.   • Page 24 BE4-V2B C.2.1 Assembly Material The V-Glass plate is delivered with a set of assembly material in a plastic bag. Picture 23: Assembly material The set contains: • Five Allen head screws • Five washers • Three T-nuts • A plastic cover While assembling the V-Glass plate carrier four screws, four washer, two T-nuts and the plastic cover will be used.
  • Page 25 C.2.2 Preparing steps before assembling Position the Bookeye® 4 with its back side at the edge of the working desk. The lower screws of the group of four screws at the bottom side of the camera neck must be accessible. Picture 24: Screws at scanner's back side Open the book cradle plates to its maximum distance.
  • Page 26 Loosen (do not remove) the four screws of the monitor mount. Picture 26: Screws of monitor mount Unplug the signal cable and the power cable from the monitor. Lift up the monitor and remove it to the front side of the scanner. Remove the cover at the upper side of the camera neck.
  • Page 27 Pull the front side cover at its bottom side in direction to the front of the scanner … Picture 28: Removing camera neck front cover … and remove it from the camera neck. Take the plastic plate from the assembly material. The plastic plate has two predetermined breaking zones.
  • Page 28 C.2.3 Assembling the Balance Weight Carrier Note: It is recommended to assemble the balance weight carrier with two persons! Remove the metal cover from the back side of the balance weight carrier. One person positions the balance weight carrier at the back side of the camera neck. The second person fixes with two screws with washer from the assembly material the carrier at the bottom side of the camera neck.

Position the balance weight carrier and the distance element at the height of the upper edge of the camera neck.
